Vince Staples invites fans to free screening of his Netflix series in LA

Rapper and actor Vince Staples is giving back to his community by hosting a free screening of his new Netflix series, The Vince Staples Show, for people in “the trenches of Los Angeles.”

The Vince Staples Show is a comedy-drama series that follows the life and career of the Long Beach native, who rose to fame with his critically acclaimed albums Summertime '06 and Big Fish Theory. The series features guest appearances from fellow artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator, and Jhené Aiko.

The free screening will take place at Brain Dead Studios, a creative space and clothing store in Fairfax, on February 12, three days before the series premieres on Netflix. Fans can RSVP for the event on the website of Brain Dead, which is also collaborating with Staples on a limited-edition merchandise collection.

Staples said he wanted to share his show with the people who supported him from the start and who can relate to his story. “This show is for the people in the trenches of Los Angeles. The ones who grew up with me, who know what it’s like to face the challenges and opportunities of this city. I want them to see themselves on the screen and to enjoy a night of fun and entertainment,” he said.

The Vince Staples Show is created by Staples and produced by Bill Burr, Al Madrigal, and Michael Rapaport. It consists of eight episodes, each running for 30 minutes. The series will be available to stream on Netflix from February 15.
