Paula Abdul, the Opposites Attract singer, has filed a lawsuit against Nigel Lythgoe, the executive producer of American Idol and her former co-judge on So You Think You Can Dance, alleging sexual assault. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles on Friday¹. According to documents obtained by The Blast, Paula Abdul claimed that Nigel Lythgoe had sexually assaulted her on more than one occasion and also "verbally insulted and belittled" her¹.
Paula Abdul explained that in 2001, she was approached by FOX to appear as a judge in an American version of the singing competition series called Pop Idol, which Lythgoe also helped produce¹. DailyMail.com has reached out to Paula's representatives for comment¹.
