Katie Price has opened up about the painful experience of her son Harvey getting the Covid-19 vaccine. The 43-year-old former glamour model said that Harvey, who has multiple disabilities, was "screaming and crying" as he received the jab.
Harvey, 22, is Katie's eldest son and has been diagnosed with septo-optic dysplasia, autism and Prader-Willi syndrome. He is in the priority group for the vaccine due to his health conditions.
Katie told The Sun: “I remember looking at mum and Sally as if they were holding me down as a hostage because you know I can’t bear anything like that. Oh my God, it hurt. I was looking at mum like, ‘Help me! Help me!’”
She added that Harvey was "brave" and "calmed down" after the injection. She said that she was proud of him and hoped that the vaccine would protect him from the virus.
Katie is also a mum to four other kids. She shares her son Junior, 18, and daughter Princess, 16, with Peter Andre from her first marriage. From her second marriage to Kieran Hayler, she has two more children, Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10.
Katie has been vocal about her struggles and joys of raising Harvey, who weighs 29 stone and requires round-the-clock care. She recently starred in a BBC documentary called Katie Price: Harvey and Me, which followed their journey to find a suitable residential college for Harvey.
The documentary received positive reviews and praise from viewers, who commended Katie for her dedication and love for her son. Katie said that she wanted to show the reality of being a parent of a disabled child and raise awareness of the challenges they face.
