Soulja Boy has weighed in on the ongoing feud between Joe Budden and some of the most popular streamers on Twitch and YouTube, such as Adin Ross and Kai Cenat.

Budden, a former rapper and podcast host, sparked controversy when he slammed Cenat for not recognizing Killer Mike, who won the Grammy for Best Rap Album for his collaboration with El-P as Run the Jewels. Budden accused Cenat of being ignorant and disrespectful to the culture of Hip Hop, and later extended his criticism to other streamers who he claimed were exploiting the genre for views and money.

Soulja Boy, who is known for being one of the first rappers to embrace the internet and social media, came to the defense of the streamers, saying that they were not obligated to know everything about Hip Hop history and that they were actually helping to promote the music to a wider audience.

In a series of tweets, Soulja Boy wrote: “Joe Budden need to chill. He always hating on the young generation. These streamers are doing their thing and bringing more fans to Hip Hop. They don’t need to know every rapper’s name and bio. They just need to vibe and have fun.”

He also added: “I respect Killer Mike and Run the Jewels. They are legends. But they are not the only ones who make good rap music. There are so many new and talented artists out there who deserve recognition and support. These streamers are giving them exposure and opportunities.”

Soulja Boy also challenged Budden to a rap battle, saying that he would prove that he was a better rapper and that he had more influence and relevance in the current music scene.

“Joe Budden can’t rap. He’s washed up. He’s only famous for talking trash on his podcast. He should stick to that and leave the rap game alone. I challenge him to a rap battle. Any time, any place. I’ll show him who’s the real king of Hip Hop.”

The streamers who were targeted by Budden also responded to his remarks, mostly with humor and sarcasm. Adin Ross, who has over 4 million followers on Twitch and YouTube, posted a video of himself dancing to Soulja Boy’s hit song “Crank That”, and thanked him for his support. Kai Cenat, who has over 2 million followers on YouTube, tweeted a picture of himself wearing a Run the Jewels T-shirt, and joked that he was a big fan of Killer Mike and El-P.

Budden has not yet responded to Soulja Boy’s tweets or the streamers’ reactions, but he is expected to address the issue on his next episode of his podcast, The Joe Budden Podcast
