Tom, who hails from Somerset, got his big break as troubled student Brett Aspinall in Waterloo Road from 2006 to 2007.

He then went on to play George Best in Best: His Mother's Son and appeared in several other TV shows before landing his defining role as Paul 'Jesus' Rovia in The Walking Dead.

He left the zombie apocalypse series at the end of the ninth season and was cast as the lead role of Malcolm Bright, a criminal profiler and son of a serial killer, in the US drama Prodigal Son.

Tom is not the only Waterloo Road star to be expecting a baby, as his former co-star Chelsee Healey, who played Janeece Bryant, revealed she is also pregnant with her second child.

The 35-year-old Hollyoaks actress, who has a five-year-old daughter named Coco with her ex-boyfriend Jack Molloy, shared the "shock" news in July.

She told Closer magazine that she was "so excited" to be pregnant again and that she felt like the timing was "just right".

She also gushed about her new partner, who she has not gone public with yet, saying he was "the most supportive relationship" she had ever been in and that he was "the first bloke" she introduced Coco to.

She added that she knew he was "The One" within three to four months and that he was "marriage material".
