The couple's engagement followed a difficult week for Charity, who sent home Aaron after he surprised her in Fiji, before having a heartbreaking split with her runner-up, Joey Graziadei.

"I'm so happy that I met you. You're everything I ever dreamed of and more," Charity told Dotun as he got down on one knee and presented her with a stunning diamond ring. "You make me feel like the luckiest woman in the world."

Dotun, who was born in Nigeria and moved to the US when he was 10, said he knew Charity was the one from the moment he saw her. "You're the most beautiful, smart, kind, and compassionate person I've ever met. You're my best friend, my soulmate, my partner in crime. I can't imagine my life without you," he said. "Will you marry me?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Charity exclaimed, as they hugged and kissed. The newly engaged couple then celebrated with champagne and fireworks, while the show's host, Chris Harrison, congratulated them.

Charity and Dotun's love story began when they met on the first night of The Bachelorette, where Dotun impressed Charity with his charm, humor, and Nigerian accent. They quickly formed a strong connection, and Dotun received the first impression rose from Charity.

Throughout the season, they shared many romantic dates, such as dancing in the streets of New York, sailing on a yacht in Miami, and hiking in the Grand Canyon. They also opened up to each other about their personal lives, such as Charity's divorce from her ex-husband, who cheated on her, and Dotun's passion for holistic health and wellness.

Dotun also won over Charity's family, who met him during the hometown dates. Charity's parents, siblings, and nieces all approved of Dotun, and praised him for being respectful, genuine, and caring. Dotun also asked Charity's father for his blessing to propose, which he gladly gave.

Charity and Dotun are now planning their wedding, which they hope to have in the spring of 2024. They said they want to have a traditional Nigerian ceremony, as well as a western one, to honor both of their cultures. They also said they want to start a family soon, and have at least three kids.

"We're so excited for the future. We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together," Charity and Dotun said in a joint statement. "We're so grateful to The Bachelorette for bringing us together, and to all the fans who supported us along the way. We love you all!"
