Zari Hassan, the ex-wife of Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, has visited the grave of her late husband Ivan Semwanga in Uganda. The socialite and businesswoman shared photos and videos of her at the burial site on her Instagram account, expressing her love and grief for the father of her three sons.
"We miss you dearly," she captioned one of the posts, while in another, she wrote, "Forever in our hearts."
Zari was accompanied by her new boyfriend, Shakib Cham, who kept a respectful distance as she mourned. She also met with some of Ivan's relatives and friends, who joined her in paying their respects.
Ivan Semwanga, a wealthy businessman and philanthropist, died in May 2017 at the age of 40 after suffering a stroke. He was buried in his village Nakaliro, Uganda, with his coffin filled with money and champagne by his associates.
Zari and Ivan had been married for 12 years and had three sons together: Pinto, Raphael and Quincy. They divorced in 2014 and Zari moved on with Diamond Platnumz, with whom she had two more children: Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan. However, their relationship also ended in 2018 amid cheating allegations.
Zari has since found love again with Shakib, a fitness trainer and businessman, who has been supportive of her and her children. She recently celebrated her 41st birthday with him in Dubai, where they had a romantic getaway.
Zari has also been busy with her career, as she was appointed as the tourism ambassador for Tanzania by President Samia Suluhu Hassan. She has been promoting the country's attractions and culture on her social media platforms, as well as distributing sanitary pads to schoolgirls in Uganda.
Zari has often remembered her late husband on special occasions, such as his birthday and death anniversary. She has also praised him for being a great father to their sons and a charming person to everyone who knew him.
"God loves those that are special and that’s exactly who you were & I guess that’s why he wanted you to himself. You have touched and helped thousands, you did wonders and I remember you telling me “life is too short Zee let me live it to the fullest”, this very dark hour it makes sense why you always said those words to me. To your sons, you were a hero-some kind of superman. Anyone who has ever been in your presence knows what a charming person you were. You will be missed and remembered in so many ways. You were IVAN THE GREAT!" she wrote in a tribute to him in 2017.
