On Tuesday, May 21, at around 6 PM, Mopao had spoken to Cliff, planning for him to visit their son. Despite her urging him to postpone the journey due to the late hour and the fact he intended to travel by motorcycle from Awasi, Cliff insisted on coming. Their conversation ended at 2:07 PM the following day, with plans for Cliff to arrive later that afternoon.
The anticipated call confirming Cliff’s arrival never came. Instead, Mopao stumbled upon the tragic news on Facebook that Cliff had been involved in a fatal accident. Desperate for confirmation, she called his number, only to have one of Cliff's friends answer. "Nyathi Ugenya, this is not Cliff. Cliff died in an accident and has already been taken to Othoo mortuary," the friend told her.
