Coronation Street actors Alan Halsall and Tisha Merry have reportedly ended their relationship after five years of dating. The pair met on the set of the ITV soap, where Halsall plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs and Merry played waitress Steph Britton until 2019.
According to a source, the couple decided to split at the beginning of the year, citing the pressure of making their relationship work as the main reason. The source told The Sun: "Alan and Tisha had a lot of love for each other and had really similar interests, enjoying socialising and going on holiday together. But they started to drift apart and feel the pressure of making their relationship work get on top of them. They realised they weren't on the same page and splitting up felt like the best option."
The source added that the former lovers have moved out of their shared home in Worsley, Greater Manchester, and have been focusing on themselves and their own friends. Merry, who is now starring in BBC soap Doctors, has deleted all photos of Halsall from her Instagram account, while Halsall has posted a photo of his 10-year-old daughter Sienna, whom he shares with his ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson, calling her "My Valentine's".
Halsall and Hudson, who also starred in Coronation Street as Katy Harris, were married for nine years before they divorced in 2018. Halsall started dating Merry shortly after she left the show in 2019. The couple had previously gushed about their romance on social media and in interviews, with Merry saying that Halsall was "the one" and Halsall saying that he was "very happy" with Merry.
Neither Halsall nor Merry have commented on the reports of their split. A spokesperson for Coronation Street said: "We do not comment on the personal lives of our cast members."
