Jason Momoa has been accused of being rude and disrespectful to Nigella Lawson after he turned his back on her during their appearance on The One Show.

The Aquaman star, 44, was on the BBC show on Monday night to promote his upcoming sequel, Aquaman 2, along with co-star James Nesbitt, 58.

However, viewers were not impressed by his body language, as he seemed to ignore celebrity chef Nigella, 63, who was also on the sofa to talk about her new cookbook.

Fans took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to express their disappointment and anger at Momoa's behaviour.

One wrote: 'Jason Momoa sat with his back to Nigella the whole time on the sofa...so rude ...'

Another commented: 'Very rude body language by Jason Momoa, putting his back to Nigella'.

A third said: 'Jason Momoa is being quite ignorant at times, especially when James Nesbitt is talking as he has his back to Nigella Lawson.'

A fourth asked: 'What's Nigella done to upset Jason Momoa then'.

A fifth wondered: 'Just switched on the telly. Why is Jason Momoa pointedly sitting with his back to Nigella Lawson??'

Some fans speculated that Momoa might have been nervous or shy, while others suggested that he might have been distracted by his phone or the studio monitors.

However, some defended the actor, saying that he was just being friendly and enthusiastic with Nesbitt, and that he did not mean to be rude to Nigella.

One fan wrote: 'Jason Momoa is not being rude to Nigella, he's just having a laugh with James Nesbitt. He's a lovely guy.'

Another said: 'Jason Momoa is not ignoring Nigella, he's just excited about his movie. He's a big fan of James Nesbitt and they have great chemistry.'

A third added: 'Jason Momoa is not snubbing Nigella, he's just being himself. He's a fun-loving and charismatic person who loves to talk and joke around.'

Momoa, who rose to fame as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, has been busy promoting his latest film, Aquaman 2, which is set to hit the cinemas on December 20, 2023.

The film is a sequel to the 2018 blockbuster, which grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide and made Momoa a global star.

Momoa reprises his role as Arthur Curry, the half-human, half-Atlantean superhero who must protect the underwater kingdom of Atlantis from a new threat.

Nesbitt plays a new character, King Orm, the brother of Aquaman's arch-enemy, Ocean Master.

Nigella, meanwhile, has been promoting her new cookbook, Nigella's Kitchen, which features over 100 recipes that celebrate her love of food and cooking.

The book is her 13th in a career that spans over two decades and has earned her millions of fans around the world.

Nigella is known for her relaxed and indulgent style of cooking, as well as her witty and charming personality.

She has also hosted several TV shows, such as Nigella Bites, Nigella Express, and Nigellissima.

The One Show is a popular magazine show that airs on BBC One every weekday evening.

The show features interviews with celebrities, experts, and ordinary people, as well as segments on current affairs, entertainment, and lifestyle.

The show is hosted by Alex Jones and Matt Baker, who are often joined by guest presenters and reporters.
