Victoria, Texas – Former child star Matt Prokop, known for his roles in “High School Musical 3” and “Hannah Montana,” has been arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. Victoria PD responded to a call on Saturday, prompted by the girlfriend’s report of the assault. According to TMZ, police arrived after the couple had left the scene. They later found the pair responding to another disturbance elsewhere in Victoria.
During their investigation, police learned that Prokop allegedly pushed his girlfriend and slammed her head into an object. The unnamed girlfriend sustained injuries that led to Prokop’s arrest. This incident is not the first involving Prokop; he was previously the subject of a restraining order filed by actress Sarah Hyland in 2014. Hyland accused Prokop of choking and threatening her life. Prokop was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Hyland and her dog.
Hyland has since moved on and married “Bachelor In Paradise” bartender Wells Adams. She has spoken publicly about her experience with Prokop’s alleged abuse.
